Madcat Cat Plopper for catfish fishing

Madcat Cat Plopper is a surface lure from the hard bait family, designed for European catfish fishing. It works on the surface with a length of 16 cm and a weight of 55 g. The through-wire construction and the two 4X strong treble hooks in size 1/0 place it among the tough, castable lures for catfish use.

What it is for

This lure is designed to attract fish with a very strong surface signal. It starts immediately on retrieve and produces a noisy action, useful when fish are hunting high in the water or when you need to draw a predator up from structured areas, edges, banks, and open-water spots. The 55 g setup makes casting easier and creates a clean splash on impact, which matters when fishing from the bank or from large areas. The through-wire build is for anglers looking for a dedicated catfish lure and using controlled, steady retrieves.

Frequently asked questions

What fishing is the Madcat Cat Plopper used for?	It is used for surface catfish fishing. It works with a steady retrieve and produces a sound and visual trigger suited to spots where fish come up to hunt.
How do you choose the right model in the series?	The models differ only by color: Roach, Perch, Firetiger UV and Glow. The choice depends on visibility in the water and on the presentation you prefer at the spot.
What features matter for use?	The important details are the 16 cm length, 55 g weight, through-wire construction, and the two 4X strong treble hooks in size 1/0. These define durability, casting, and presentation.
What makes this lure different from other topwater lures?	It starts immediately on retrieve and generates a lot of noise. The “golf ball” surface increases turbulence and makes it more noticeable in the water.
Does it need special maintenance?	After use it should be rinsed and dried, especially if it has been used in dirty water or with debris. It is a good idea to check the treble hooks and the lure body before the next session.
