Abu Garcia Toby Spoon

Abu Garcia Toby Spoon is a spoons lure from the hard bait family, designed for fishing with metal lures on the retrieve. The Toby series was born in 1956 and is one of the historic lures of the Abu Garcia brand. The available range includes 7 g and 10 g models, with the same 5.7 cm length and a selection of dedicated colours.

What it is for

This series works as a search and presentation lure for predators that respond to regular movement and the typical flash of spoons lures. It is used in freshwater, with a linear retrieve or speed variations, when you need to cover the spot and work a band between 1 and 3 metres. The sink buoyancy keeps the lure in the fishing zone and makes it suitable for medium-depth areas, drop-offs, current edges and open stretches. Anglers looking for an easy-to-handle lure with a compact size and a consistent setup across the whole series will find it here.

Features

  • Two available weights: 7 g and 10 g, to choose the load according to distance and fishing setup.
  • Uniform length of 5.7 cm across all models in the series.
  • Sink buoyancy, with a stated swimming depth between 1 m and 3 m.
  • One mounted hook on each lure, size #6.
  • Wide colour range, useful for adapting the lure to light, water and fish preferences.

On Pescaloccasione, the Toby Spoon series sits among the Abu Garcia spoons lures for those looking for a classic product, with weight and colour variants ready to cover more fishing conditions.

Frequently asked questions

How do you choose the right Toby Spoon version?Choose it based on weight and colour. The 7 g and 10 g versions keep the same length, but differ in load and fishing response.
At what depth does this lure work? The datasheet indicates a swimming depth between 1 m and 3 m. It is therefore suitable for situations where the spoons lure needs to work in a mid-range band.
What type of rigging does it have? Each lure is fitted with a size #6 hook. The product comes already with a single hook installed.
What changes between the models in the series? The weight changes and the colour changes. The length remains 5.7 cm and the swimming range also remains unchanged.
