Madcat Backbone

Madcat Backbone is a braided line from the Superline range, designed for catfish fishing and for anglers looking for a high-strength braid for heavy-duty fishing. The series was created to provide high strength and direct contact with the bait and the fish during the strike and the fight.

What it is for

This braid is designed for catfish sessions in situations where the line is put under heavy stress. It is used for casting, static fishing and pelagic fishing, where control, sensitivity and abrasion resistance are required. Anglers using catfish-specific tackle will find in this series a suitable working base for handling demanding fights and maintaining control when the fish takes line. The variants cover different diameter and load requirements, so the choice can be matched to the rod, the technique and the amount of line needed on the reel.

Features

Catfish fishing braid from the Madcat Superline range.
High strength to handle fights with large fish.
High abrasion resistance, useful when fishing near obstacles and demanding bottoms.
Available in several diameters and strengths, from 0.30 mm to 0.60 mm.
Available in 300 m, 600 m and 3000 m spools.
Chartreuse colour across the range.

On Pescaloccasione, the Backbone series is part of the Madcat range dedicated to catfish fishing, with different versions to cover diameter, strength and spool length needs. The choice of variant depends on the type of fishing and the reel capacity.

Frequently asked questions

How do you choose the right Madcat Backbone variant?	The choice depends on the diameter, strength and spool length. Lighter versions cover less demanding uses, while the stronger ones are used when extra holding power is needed during the fight.
Which techniques is this braid used for?	Madcat Backbone is suitable for pelagic fishing, casting and static fishing. The series was created for catfish fishing and works well when sensitivity and control of the fish are needed.
What changes between the models in the series?	The diameter, strength and spool length change. Some variants come in 300 m, others in 600 m or 3000 m, so you can choose according to the reel and the amount of line required.
What colour is the Backbone series?	All the listed models are in Chartreuse. This makes the series consistent across the different available variants.
Does it require any special maintenance?	The manufacturer’s data sheet does not indicate any specific maintenance. As with any fishing braid, it is advisable to check the line condition after use and replace the worn section when necessary.
